Attention ladies who love a great party for a good cause!  Mark your calendar for Thursday evening, April 25, 2024, at Fox Chapel Golf Club.  It’s the Women’s Board of Pittsburgh's annual benefit, Fashion Their Future: Support Pittsburgh’s Children.  This year’s event, Safari Sunset, will benefit Fox Families Care and Grow Pittsburgh, an area non-profit that supports the welfare and development of children in the Pittsburgh community.

  • Fox Families Care (www.foxfamiliescare.org) was started in 2019 and has since connected hundreds of children to vital resources.  The organization was founded to bridge the gap between the significant needs of families and their often-limited budgets.  Fox Families Care provides many services in the community, including emergency grants for clothing, shoes, supplies, and educational and camp scholarships.  With funds raised at the Women’s Board of Pittsburgh event, Fox Families Care will provide underserved children with summer camp scholarships.
  • Grow Pittsburgh (www.growpittsburgh.org) is a unique organization that develops and supports food-growing initiatives in the region to improve the social, economic, environmental, health, and educational realities of the youth in our community.  Grow Pittsburgh teaches children to grow food by building and supporting gardens in schools and communities in Allegheny County.  Since it was established in 2005, Grow Pittsburgh has started over 40 School Garden Programs in schools in the area. Proceeds from the Women’s Board of Pittsburgh benefit will provide Grow Pittsburgh with funding for updating their growing beds to meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards that allow all children to participate in the gardening process.

Safari Sunset fun festivities will begin at 5:30 PM on Thursday evening, April 25, 2024, at Fox Chapel Golf Club.  Activities will include cocktails, a seated dinner, a fashion show with the latest Spring and Summer styles from Carabella, and silent and live auctions.  This exciting annual fundraiser, which is always a sold-out event, has enabled the Women’s Board of Pittsburgh to give over $1.4 million to area non-profits that support underserved children in our community since 1992.  To purchase tickets to the event or for more information about the Women’s Board of Pittsburgh, please visit wbpgh.org.
