Police Report
Police reports may be obtained at the Fox Chapel Police Department for a
fee by calling (412) 963-7220.
False Alarms
Please assist your Police and Fire Departments by becoming familiar with and
implementing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) dictated by your alarm
company. When a false alarm is generated, DO NOT call the alarm company or
the Police Department. The alarm company will be trying to contact you to obtain your password/code to verify whether the alarm is
real before they dispatch the Police and/or Fire Departments. If you call
the alarm company immediately after generating a false alarm, the alarm company
will not be able to get through to you and will assume that something is amiss
and will dispatch the Police and/or Fire Departments.
Ordinance No. 607 requires Alarm Users and Alarm Companies to properly maintain
and operate alarm systems in order to eliminate false alarms. A citation/fine will be filed automatically after the 4th false
alarm is generated within a 12-month period.
Wildlife Management Program
In 1992, the Borough established a comprehensive
wildlife management program to control
the Borough's burgeoning deer population. A key component of that program
is the use of qualified archers to remove deer from the Borough. The
selection, training and approval of the archers is closely supervised by the
Borough's Police Department according to rules of the PA Game Commission specifically
developed by the
Borough. If you are interested in placing an archer on your property,
please contact the Fox Chapel Police Department at (412) 963-7220 to determine if
your property meets the requirements.
The second part of the Boroughs' Deer Management Program involves the use of
police officers shooting deer at night at selected sites throughout the Borough.
All meat obtained in this manner has been and will continue to be contributed to
the needy.
