Building Materials, Freon-containing Appliances
and Yard Waste Disposal
Appliance Disposal
(Subsidiary of the Appliance Warehouse) has been working with the Department of
Environmental Protection and the Allegheny Recycling Department to design
programs to keep all refrigerators and all freon-containing appliances out of
landfills. Most organizations take the freon out of the refrigerator on
site and leave it for bulk pick-up. Appliance Disposal removes the
refrigerator from the premises and evacuates the freon at their facility.
Call 1-888-GO-FREON, or schedule a pickup online at
www.appliancedisposal.org.
(They also take air conditioners, freezers, dehumidifiers and water coolers.)
